We bought this one as genuine and it was withdrawn from MONNAIES II, 608. Supposed to be an english manufacture.

Looks real well! It is a "made-up" fake from a group of 30 coins "found" in Timgad, Algeria which included a sestercius of Caligula with the three sisters and Nero "Port of Ostia". All the coins, when cleaned, show they are cast and junk fakes for tourists. We kept some uncleaned to show how good a "make-up" can be.

A classic which passed many sales and books. We bought it as genuine and withdrew it before it could go in a sale. Beirut school, early 1970.
